Interesting Reads on Ramos, Compean Case
Friday, January 19, 2007
---Article from the Canadian Free Press about the Border Patrol 2
---U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) introduced a bill Thursday that would pardon Ramos and Compean. He also made a request to the Federal Bureau of Prisons to keep the two out of the general population at the prison. Congress has never pardoned someone, but no one is really sure they can't.
---This story will probably be making the rounds Friday. Read it for yourself and tell me what you think President Bush meant. I don't really take it to mean he is considering a pardon any more than he was before.
---This is a post from ePluribus Media that includes what is supposed to be what the Justice Department presented at the trial as an account of the case. It definitely paints a different story about what happened. Although, consider that for the most part this is the account of the incident by a man who was smuggling $1 million worth of pot into the U.S., had been runnin' drugs since he was 14 (according to family), and is suing the USA for $5 million. Do you trust him?
