Gilmer Hernandez Goes to Jail
Wednesday, March 21, 2007
Mexico continued its winning streak in U.S. courts with the conviction of Gilmer Hernandez back in December. Monday, Hernandez, a Sheriff's Deputy, was sentenced to a year and a day in jail andwas also ordered to pay $5,347 to the "victim" and a $5,000 fine. His crime? Shooting at the tires of a Suburban carrying illegals immigrants after the vehicle had tried to hit him during a traffic stop. An initial investigation cleared the deputy, but the Federal Government opened another investigation after talking to the illegals in the van, according to the Washington Times. The Federal Government had recommended a seven-year sentence for Hernandez, who leaves a wife and seven-month old daughter at home.

Hernandez stopped the vehicle after it ran a red light on the night of April 14, 2005. When he went to question the driver, he noticed that the passengers in the vehicle were crouched down. He then asked for identification and the vehicle took off, swerving towards him as it fled. He drew his firearm and shot 2 times at each rear tire. Further down the road, when the Suburban crashed, 8 or 9 illegals fled. The "victim" was found crouched in the back cargo area of the vehicle. A fragment from either the bullet or the vehicle had clipped her lip and broke two teeth. Gilmer Hernandez was convicted of violating her civil rights by "recklessly" shooting at the vehicle. The woman reported that she paid about $2,000 to be smuggled in in that Suburban.
Jeez, just think when all the illegals figure out they can turn jumping the border into a profitable venture.

Could Mexico Whine More?
Sunday, February 25, 2007
Would someone please give Mexico some cheese to go with their whine? Now they are complaining about workers building a border fence that are straying up to 10 yards into Mexico.
Isn't it enough that we hold up their economy by letting millions of their citizens earn money here and send it home?
Isn't it enough that we take a lot of their scumbags and other violent criminals?
Isn't it enough that we listen to them when they want us to prosecute our law enforcement officers?

Here is a rebuttal from the National Border Patrol Council to the "Myth vs Reality" document that Johnny Sutton's office put out to try and justify their prosecution of two fine Americans.

Lie Put Ramos and Compean in Jail
The trial transcript of the BP2 trial is now available and "surprise surprise" it confirms that the dirty Mexican drug runner was involved in bringing another load of drugs into the U.S. AFTER he was given immunity for load he brought over in February of that year. The judge in the case ruled that the defense could not bring up that October incident because the trial was not about the dirty Mexican drug runner, it was about the fine Americans shooting the dirty Mexican drug runner.
Mr. dirty Mexican drug runner painted a picture of himself on the stand of an inexperienced drug runner who was just doing it in February for some extra money to pay mama's medical bills. The judge in the case apparently went along with the lie in not allowing the jury to see that this was a man who proceeded to continue his drug running ways despite having his urethra severed by a bullet in Feb. It's too bad there weren't two fine Americans around to "illegally pursue him at a high rate of speed" and illegally shoot him in October like there were in February.

Does Sutton Work For Mexico?
Thursday, February 15, 2007
According to this article from World Net Daily Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean would probably not have been charged if it wasn't for the Mexican government insisting on it. Ya know, I think it is really best to just let Mexico make all our decisions from now on. They do such a good job of running their own country. Just think if the United States wasn't here to make things easy for them. What would they do with all those extra citizens? How would they deal with not having all that money coming in from the illegal aliens?

When Sutton Wins, America Loses
Tuesday, February 13, 2007
Nice blog post here about how Johnny Sutton's office is on a mission to handcuff men protecting our borders. Points out Ramos/Compean case, as well as the case of Gilmer Hernandez

DOJ Can't Even Get Ramos/Compean Transcript
Wednesday, February 07, 2007
An article from World Net Daily today mentions the White House is working on getting transcripts from the trial of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. Shouldn't it be pretty easy for the Department of Justice to get a trail transcript in the age of computers and fax machines?

Ramos/Compean: WND Cites DHS Memo
Tuesday, February 06, 2007
World Net Daily just posted a story about how a Department of Homeland Security memo indicates that two supervisors were on the scene when the BP2 shooting took place. Link. So if Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean committed the horrible sin of not filing a report, what about the two supervisors?

Ramos Beaten In Prison
Ignacio Ramos, one of the Border Patrol 2, celebrated his 38th birthday recently in federal prison. Did he get to talk to his three sons on his birthday? No. You want to know how he celebrated it? With bruises caused by getting jumped in prison by a group of inmates. How's that for a birthday present?

Monica Ramos Starts A Blog
Monday, February 05, 2007
Monica Ramos, the wife of Ignacio Ramos, has started a blog through Grassfire.org's new FireSociety. Her first post talks about how both her husband and Jose Compean have been moved to prisons out of state. Ignacio Ramos is in the general population at the prison. I imagine he is almost more of a target than that ex-guard from Prison Break

Ignacio Ramos Can't Even See His Family
Friday, February 02, 2007
Ignacio Ramos has been sent to a prison 1,500 miles from his hometown. Because of this he can't even see his family while in jail.
Here isthe NewsMax story
I am glad the Democrats in Congress are worried about passing non-binding resolutions while all this is going on.
Note to MO voters:
Todd Akin is the only member of the Missouri delegation that has voiced his support for Ramos and Compean. He signed on to a bill urging a pardon of the BP2.

Did The BP2 Get Nifonged?
Tuesday, January 30, 2007
New reports are saying that the ballistics used in the BP2 case do not support the claim that a bullet fired from Ignacio Ramos' gun hit the dirty Mexican drug smuggler. Supposedly a Department of Homeland Security agent testified under oath that a bullet from Ramos' weapon hit the dirty Mexican drug smuggler.
Here is the article
So, here is how the bullet was tested:
===Agents supposedly shot dirty Mexican drug smuggler
===Said bullet enters left buttocks area and damages urethra.
===Said dirty Mexican drug smuggler goes to Mexican doctor
===Said Mexican doctor repairs some of the damage to urethra and inserts catheter
===Said Mexican doctor leaves bullet in drug smuggler
===DHS Agent Christopher Sanchez goes to get drug smuggler and brings him back to US
===US doctor extracts bullet. Bullet handed over to Texas Department of Public Safety for testing.
The bullet should have been handed over to the FBI for testing because they handle shooting involving Federal Agents, not the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Agent Christopher Sanchez also happens to be the person who testified that the ballistics test matched Ignacio Ramos' gun.
This article explores the connections between the people involved in bringing the dirty Mexican drug smuggler back to the United States.

White House To Review Trial Transcript
It is about time the White House looks into this case. This article says that the White House will begin reviewing the official trial transcript from the case. Apparently that may be harder than it seems because the court reporter wasn't exactly primetime according to the article.

Will Congress Pull Funding For BP2 Jailtime?
Friday, January 26, 2007
Next week, most likely, there is expected to be a bill proposed in the House that would pull the funding that pays for the jaling of former Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. Several members of the House are expected to put the bill foward. The plan is talked about here

Ramos and Compean Update
The two ex-Border Patrol Agents are still in jail while the federal prosecutor, Johnny Sutton, toots his own horn and a National Guard unit is given medals for not firing when Mexicans come at them with guns.
A belated kudos to Rep. Todd Akin, who represents Missouri 2nd Congressional District in the House, for supporting Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean with his support of this bill He is the only elected Missouri Official in D.C. who has supported this cause to my knowledge.
Interesting quotes from the article linked to above where Johnny Sutton toots his own horn:
"They didn't know if he was an American citizen or not. ... It was outrageous behavior, and prosecutors can't look the other way."
---Well, for one he was a Spanish looking fellow, stopped in a van by the border, running away from Federal Agents towards Mexico. And secondly, don't we expect our Federal Agents to act on instinct?
"We didn't give up much in the use of immunity. We offered immunity. Otherwise, he would not come back from Mexico," he said.
--Thank you, Johnny Sutton. You brought a dirty Mexican drug runner back to the United States. Good for you. I hope you sleep well at night. I am sure that most of America would have preferred to have this POS stay in Mexico. But, no, grand 'ol Johnny Sutton had to bring him back. Maybe the wound in his butt and crappy medical care would have kept him from running drugs to America's youth, but No, Johnny Sutton brought him back and had the United States foot the bill for the best medical care. Now, he is all better and ready to smuggle drugs onto the streets of the United States.

Monica Ramos Doesn't Mince Words
Wednesday, January 24, 2007
Monica Ramos, the wife of Ignacio Ramos, had some harsh words for President Bush after the State of the Union Address in D.C. She was a guest at the speech of Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (D-Calif). She gave her two cents to World Net Daily here. She would like to point out, among other things, that her husband was clearly trying to protect our borders when he shot the dirty Mexican drug smuggler. So, when she hears President Bush talking about securing our borders, two plus two doesn't exactly add up to four.
Now I won't go as far as she did in placing all the blame on the POTUS, but I would appreciate a little more sympathy out of him. No one can blame her for speaking out, however. She is the one who has to raise kids whose father is in prison. I mean how can you explain to kids that daddy didn't do anything wrong, even though he is on the same side of the glass as drug runners, child molesters, murderers, and rapists?
