Maybe Bonner Isn't Close to the Poorhouse

    Elliot Davis did his latest "You Paid For It" segment on the hiring of Anthony Bonner to coach Vashon basketball and supposedly do some PR/Community Outreach position for the District. I linked to an article some time ago that mentioned that Bonner actually will make $72,000 instead of the $125,000 originally reported. Well, apparently the head of the school board wasn't informed of that. In the segment, viewable here, Ms. O'Brien says that Bonner is paid $125,000/year. Maybe she was too busy attending a PTA meeting in the Clayton district where her kids go to school to get that memo? Anyways, I came to three conclusions after watching the clip: 1) Veronica has no idea what Bonner is supposed to do other than coach. 2) Ms. O'Brien seems like she could have the hots for Mr. Bonner and 3) I bet the other people in the Communications Department love how much more money Bonner is making than them.

Paper Money Discriminates Against the Blind

In honor of a recent court decision that the paper money system we have discriminates against the blind, I have come up with a list of other court decisions I am waiting on:

  • Colleges discriminate against white, middle class students

  • Athletic teams discriminate against fat white kids. Ain't it funny how some things are allowed to be merit-based?

  • The University of Missouri violated the rights of good football coaches everywhere by extending Pinkel's contract.

  • Having sports teams named after animals violates the rights of innocent animals

  • Many companies discriminate against intelligent people by allowing dumb people to keep their jobs

  • The welfare system discriminates against people that actively work for a better life

  • Raising the minimum wage would discriminate against intelligent workers by raising the floor for people who deserve to be paid at that level. It also leaves less money for raises for the people who deserve it.
