Jeff Hadler is a Star

Friday, January 12, 2007

Watching news coverage of the Ownby and Hornbeck recovery tonight you can't miss Jeff Hadler. Hadler lives in the same apartment complex apparently and is the one that tipped off the police last night about the truck. KSDK was interviewing him and you had to feel sorry for the guy because they couldn't even give him an umbrella. If you switched to Fox 2 right after the KSDK interview, there was Hadler again. Fox 2 was nice enough to give him an umbrella though. Apparently, Hadler had been using the suspect's unsecured wireless internet connection and had gone so far as to figure out who owned the connection and research Devlin online.

Ownby Found.. . With Hornbeck

Not only was Ben Ownby found today, missing since Monday, but Shawn Freakin' Hornbeck was found too. Hornbeck had been missing since '02. They were found in an apartment in Kirkwood. Two Kirkwood police officers saw the truck last night when going to serve a warrant. Micheal J. Devlin, 41 of Kirkwood, has been charged with one charge of kidnapping and is being held on $1 million bond. Devlin supposedly managed an Imo's in Kirkwood, according to KMOV.

Can We Please Get A Pardon Here?

I don't understand why action hasn't been taken yet by Washington to pardon the two former Border Patrol agents yet. How many Congressmen need to sign on before something is done and common sense can win?

Nashville Star Update

Well, two people were eliminated in the first episode, Tim Laroche, who I didn't much care for, and RickieJoLeen, who I liked and thought was hot but I wondered about what her voice could do. The judges didn't seem to think the 18 year old had what they wanted.

Here is the summary

Forget American Idol, Nashville Star Is It

American Idol is starting soon, if you haven't already heard. You probably have though because it is AMERICAN IDOL. Personally, I don't really like the show. They run too many clips of horrible singers who really should have had their dreams shattered long ago. If I wanted to see a horrible singer, I would sing to the mirror. I would much rather watch Nashville Star on the USA Network. I guess I am just too much of a hick for that high class American Idol. Over on the Nashville Star page, they have clips of all the finalists singing. Here's what I thought of the clips I watched:

  • Whitney Duncan

  • She is definitely a looker, good choice to sing a song called "Skinny Dippin'" Could give Miranda Lambert a run for her money for the Best Lookin' Nashville Star participant ever

  • Rickiejoleen

  • I like her voice and looks, but I wonder if her voice has an edge that wasn't showcased in "New Strings"

  • Angela Hacker

  • I can see her voice carrying her a long way in this competition. Check out her Myspace page and listen to "Brand New Pair of Boots" Miranda Lambert didn't win when she was on this show and I think it might not matter if Angela Hacker wins or not as far as getting a contract.

  • Dustin Wilkes

  • Um. . .go ahead and put me down for a copy of his cd. Watch this clip.

  • Kacey Musgraves

  • Is she the lost Wrecker?

  • David St. Romain

  • Would someone please call the country station to get Pat Green's "Wave on Wave" replaced with this one? He won't be my pick to win this contest. He doesn't need this contest. In fact, he probably shouldn't be on Nashville Star. Just go ahead and put him in the rotation on country radio.
