Natalie Maines, Just Quit Talking
Saturday, June 17, 2006
Natalie Maines, seriously just quit talking. I am all for free speech and all that. Meaning I can say that I think Natalie Maines is a freaking moron. Natalie, I am sure that if you wanted to move to France, we could take up a collection and get it paid for easily. I'll give you credit as a musician because you can really sing. As far as being a smart person, you ain't gonna get that credit. When you first came out with your "We're ashamed Bush is from Texas too" I really wasn't that offended. I realized you were in a foreign land and made a comment off the top of your head. I wasn't going to quit listening to your music or anything, but then you just kept talking.
Here's her latest dumb quote. Drudge has a link to a Telegraph article quoting Ms. Maines on patriotism.
"The entire country may disagree with me, but I don't understand the necessity for patriotism," Maines resumes, through gritted teeth. "Why do you have to be a patriot? About what? This land is our land? Why? You can like where you live and like your life, but as for loving the whole country… I don't see why people care about patriotism."
Most of me just looks at this and is like "What can you even say about this, she's a moron." Considering it is World Cup time, I find it even funnier that this article comes out now. I wonder what she thinks about all the fan waving and cheering for your home country that goes on in the German stadiums. I guess she wouldn't understand that either.
When someone makes a dumb quote like this, it really doesn't even deserve arguing. Just sit back, realish in her idiotness, and laugh.
